Before and After School Programs

Designed to meet the needs of a growing number of parents who work and need dependable child care. The programs provide structured, well-planned and fun activities in a caring atmosphere at the Boys & Girls Clubhouse. The programs include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor play, music, movies, story time, and homework help. In addition to these activities, the children will learn socialization skills in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

  • Before School Program:  members in grades K-6, enjoy a light, healthy breakfast and participate in fun, age-appropriate activities before the start of each school day.  The program begins at 7:00 a.m., and transportation is provided to Roosevelt Elementary and Vernon Middle Schools.
  • After School Program:  provides children in grades K-6 with a safe, fun environment with caring staff members and friends.  Transportation is provided to the Clubhouse from Roosevelt and Vernon Schools at dismissal.  The program operates Monday-Friday, from dismissal time until 6:30 p.m. each day school is in session.
The program is coordinated by a Child Care Director with experience in administering a school-age child care program.  Program instructors and additional staff members are selected with the needs and safety of the children in mind.  The N.Y.S. Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment and Lexis Nexis proprietary National Criminal File clear all staff members

For more information on the Club’s Child Care Programs, please contact Lorraine Rubin, Child Care Director, at (516) 922-9285, ext.19.
