Meet Our Staff

Gail M. Canavan-Executive Director

Gail has been with the Club since December 1992. She holds and M.B.A. from Adelphi University and a B.B.A. from Hofstra University. Gail enjoys quilting, cooking and assisting families who are adopting from the Ukraine.

Lori Wood-Assistant Executive Director

Lori has been a staff member at the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich since 2003. Lori worked here part-time as Youth Employment Coordinator/Special Project Coordinator for two years, then became Child Care Director, then Program/Outreach Director, and finally Assistant Executive Director! Lori holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, as well as a Master's Degree of Science in School Counseling.

Valerie Buscemi-Program/Outreach Director

Valerie has been at the Club since October 2006. Valerie worked as the Child Care Director, and then became Program/Outreach Director. Previously, Valerie worked as a teacher with children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old. Valerie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Kurt LeBright-Athletic Supervisor

Kurt is a long time resident of Oyster Bay. His favorite activity at the Club is gym time. He is a member of the Oyster Bay High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Kurt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from C.W. Post.

Bill Waters-Child Care Director

Mr. Bill enjoys helping the kids with their homework. All the kids look up to him for help and advice. In his free time, Mr. Bill enjoys gardening and playing sports. Bill loves to coach kids in different sports.

Marie Waters-Before School Program Instructor

Marie is a homemaker and enjoys walking, playing board games and solitare. Marie lives in Bayville. Her favorite activity at the Club is cooking. Marie is a BIG fan of Lucille Ball and collects all "I Love Lucy" memorabilia.

Kristin Higgins-After School Program Instructor-Grade 2

Kristin has been with the Club since October 2005. She is currently a sophmore in college and is getting a liberal arts degree. Her favorite activity at the Club is being outside with the children. In her free time Kristin enjoys exercising including, bike riding and roller blading.

Anthony Imburgia-After School Program Instructor-Grade 5

Anthony is a former Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich. This September will mark Anthony's fifth year as a staff member at the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich. Anthony has also been a summer camp counselor here at the Club for the past 4 years with the K-3 group. Anthony is currently enrolled at Nassau Communty College majoring in Liberal Arts. He is the lead singer of the local band Chronicles.

Jennifer Tamayo- After School Program Assistant Instructor-Grade 5

Jen loves working with kids. She inspires to be a first grade teacher. Jen enjoys listening to music, reading, and hanging out with friends. Jen resides in Oyster Bay. Jen is always friendly to everybody and you can always see her smiling face when you walk into the Club.

Jessica Tate-Control Desk Attendant

Jessica has been at the Club since September 2008. She wants to be a teacher when she finishes school. In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading. Her favorite activity at the Club is gym time. Jessica loves working with children.

Tiffani Martinez-After School Program Instructor-Grades K-1st

Tiffani joined the Club in December 2008. Tiffani would like to be in daycare management when she is finished with college. She enjoys playing volleyball, exercising, and dancing. Her favorite activity at the Club is gym time. When Tiffani is not at the Club she is out shopping!!

Chris Spyropulos-After School Program Instructor-Grade 3

Chris has been at the Club since 2008. He is a C.W. Post graduate and holds a degree in Criminal Justice.

Nicole Fasulo-Art Instructor

Nicole has been at the Club since July 2008. She began here as a summer camp counselor for grades 4-6. Nicole now teaches all the art programs here at the Club.

Conrad Holt-Gamesroom Supervisor/Grades 6 thru 8

Conrad was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster-Bay East Norwich when he was in fourth grade thru twelfth grade. Conrad's favorite activity at the Club is gym time. Conrad would like to become a gym teacher or a professional music producer. Conrad enjoys writing his own music in his spare time.

Stephan Jones-Building Maintenance Manager

Stephan has worked at the Club for two years, as our Building Maintenance Manager. His hometown is York, Pennsylvania, and he enjoys sports, cars, and fixing things! Stephan is a known prankster who loves playing tricks on his fellow co-workers.

Stacey Pannullo-Secretary

Stacey has been a part of the Club since 1995. She graduated from Hunter Business School. Stacey enjoys singing, cooking, and reading.

Donna Prisco-Administrative Assistant

Donna has been with the Club since September 1994. In her free time she enjoys dancing and spending time with her family.

Camille Mastellone- Development Director

Camille joined the Club in 1997. Camille graduated from C.W. Post. Camille has interests in cooking and reading, and enjoys spending time with her family.

Helen Buscemi- Receptionist

Helen joined the Club in 2008. Helen in her free time enjoys knitting, crocheting, and cooking. She also enjoys spending time with her growing family. Helen lives in Syosset. She loves listening to country music especially when her husband, a musician, is performing!
